The Icelandic-Chinese Cultural society send this condolences on the 8th of February 2020 to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries:
Our dear friends of the CPAFFC
Please accept the sincere and heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Icelandic-Chinese Cultural society, our members, board and me personally, in these difficult times for the people of China during the outbreak of the coronavirus. We mourn the lives of the people lost to the disease and acknowledge the sacrifice of the brave folk that work to cure and contain it.
Our hope is that the people of China take strength from the global outpouring of support and solidarity, and know they are not alone. Even as far away as in Iceland we talk of China’s hardship every day. China’s incredible response in this crisis is a testimony to the spirit and tenacity of the Chinese people, we watch in awe as entire hospitals are built in a matter of days and stadiums are cleared for the use of patients.
As always we are confident that China will come out of this tragedy unbowed and strong as ever.
We offer our condolences and wish you strength in these trying times
Thorkell Olafur Arnason
Chairman of the Icelandic-Chinese Cultural society
