Saga Jen Zhang hefur búið á Íslandi um árabil og starfar sem leiðsögumaður hjá ferðaskrifstofunni Friend in Iceland. Hún hefur tekið á móti fjölmörgum hópum af samlöndum sínum frá Kína og leitt þau um landið, til að deila með þeim náttúrufegurð og menningarfróðleik. Saga Jen mun deila með áheyrendum af sinni reynslu sem leiðsögumaður og miðla af þekkingu um  menningarmun Íslands og Kína.
Viðburðurinn er hluti af fyrirlestraröðinni Snarl og spjall um Kína sem Kínversk-íslenska menningarfélagið stendur að í samvinnu við Konfúsíusarstofnunina Norðurljós. Fyrirlesturinn fer fram fimmtudaginn 6. mars, kl.17:30, í stofu 007 í Veröld – húsi Vigdísar og er öllum opinn. Boðið er upp á veitingar og geta gestir spjallað saman, myndað tengsl eða guanxi, eins og það heitir á kínversku. Síðan hefst frásögn Sögu Jen.

Saga Jen Zhang

Saga Jen Zhang has lived in Iceland for years and works as a guide for the travel agency Friend in Iceland. She has welcomed numerous groups of her compatriots from China and led them around the country, sharing with them Icaland’s natural beauty and cultural knowledge. Saga Jen will share with the audience her experience as a guide and share knowledge about the cultural differences between Iceland and China.

The event is part of the lecture series Snacks and Chat about China, which is organized by the Chinese-Icelandic Cultural Society in collaboration with the Confucius Institute Norðurljós. The talk will take place on Thursday, March 6, at 5:30 PM in room 007 in Veröld – House of Vigdís and is open to all.  Before the lecture begins, refreshments will be offered and guests can chat and enjoy them and build guanxi, which is a term used in Chinese culture to describe an individual’s social network.
