Tingting Zheng
Tingting Zheng stundar doktorsnám í jarðvísindum við Háskóla Íslands sem meðlimur í GRÓ-jarðhitaþjálfun UNESCO (GRÓ – Þekkingarmiðstöð þróunarsamvinnu). Hún er með B.Sc. gráðu í vatnafræði og auðlindaverkfræði og M.Sc. gráðu í grunnvatnsvísindum og verkfræði frá China University of Geosciences. Áður starfaði Tingting sem vatnajarðfræðingur í Kína og tók nýlega við nýju hlutverki sem jarðhitalónsverkfræðingur í hlutastarfi hjá Arctic Green Energy, alþjóðlegu fyrirtæki á sviði endurnýjanlegrar orku. Auk þess er hún meðstofnandi Iceland Academy ehf., íslensku fyrirtækis sem sérhæfir sig í að veita upplýsingar um innritun í íslenska háskóla og bjóða kínverskum háskólanemum upp á nám á Íslandi.

Geothermal Adventures: A Chinese Student’s Journey in Iceland, Bridging Cultures and Industries
Tingting Zheng
Tingting Zheng is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at the University of Iceland as a fellow of the UNESCO GRÓ-Geothermal Training Programme (GRÓ – International Centre for Capacity Development). She holds a B.Sc. degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering and a M.Sc. degree in Groundwater Science and Engineering from China University of Geosciences. Previously, Tingting worked as a hydrogeologist in China and recently transitioned to a new role as a part-time Geothermal Reservoir Engineer at Arctic Green Energy, a global renewable energy company. Additionally, she is a co-founder of Iceland Academy ehf., an Icelandic company dedicated to providing information on enrollment in Icelandic universities and offering study in Iceland services to Chinese students.
Snack and chat about China
The event is organized by the Chinese-Icelandic Culture Association and the Northern Lights Confucius Institute, which also offers free refreshments. It will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 17:30 in room VHV-007, basement of Veröld, Vigdís building, Brynjólfsgötu 1, Reykjavík. There is plenty of free parking next to the building. Before the lecture begins, refreshments will be offered and guests can chat and enjoy them and build guanxi, which is a term used in Chinese culture to describe an individual’s social network. Then the lecture will take place, which is estimated to last around 30-45 minutes. Participation is free and everyone is welcome.
